Being held from the 6th-8th October 2010 at the new Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the 2010 Conference will be the biggest and most diverse meeting on the Australian Family Therapy calendar. It will attract over 400 delegates making this a Landmark conference.
This conference comes at an important point in the history of family therapy in Australia – the birth of a national family therapy association. As the Victorian Association of Family Therapy (VAFT) also celebrates its 31st year, we welcome you to this conference, which is aimed at honouring diversity in family therapy, focussing on cultural and other contexts, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, and exploring the significance of community.
The three day program includes plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, poster sessions, the Conference dinner and a social program, all of which provide a variety of settings for delegates to increase and update their knowledge, catch up with old friends and colleagues and make new ones. We are delighted to confirm that elements of this year’s program have been specifically tailored to students and new family therapists ensuring the needs of our new and upcoming colleagues are also addressed.
The Conference theme of Diversity: Context, Culture and Community respects the richness of the profession and brings a wealth of opportunities for delegates, presenters and sponsors to engage.
We look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne and to your valued participation in the 31st Australian Family Therapy Conference.
